This policy describes how Looper ("we", "us", "the app") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Looper mobile application.
Looper is operated by Zarubia Holdings Inc., a company registered in British Columbia, Canada (Business Number 713063238BC0001).
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Profile — your name, handicap, handedness, preferred shot shape, common miss types, and avatar choice.
- Bag setup — the clubs in your bag and their typical distances.
- Round data — scores, shots logged, GPS positions during rounds, courses played, and notes.
- Feedback — any messages you submit via the in-app feedback form, with your device model and OS version.
- Coaching messages — questions you ask the AI caddie during rounds.
- Photos sent to the caddie (optional) — if you choose to photograph your lie, the image is sent to our AI provider to generate advice. It is held only for that conversation, discarded when the round ends, and not saved on our servers or your device's persistent storage.
- Account credentials (optional) — if you sign in to make your account portable, we receive your email address and, depending on the sign-in method, your name and profile photo.
Information collected automatically
- Device location — GPS coordinates during active rounds, used to calculate distances and recommend clubs. We do not track your location when you're not in a round.
- Device information — operating system version, device model, and app version, used for diagnostics.
- Crash and performance data — collected if the app crashes, via a third-party crash-reporting service, to help us fix problems.
- Usage analytics — basic events such as the app being opened or a round being started, used to understand how the app is being used.
- Anonymous account identifier — when you first install the app, we create an anonymous account so your data can be stored. This identifier doesn't contain any personal information.
How we use your information
- Provide the core caddie features (distance calculations, club recommendations, shot strategy)
- Generate AI-assisted advice based on your inputs and current conditions
- Sync your data across devices when you sign in
- Diagnose crashes and improve the app
- Respond to feedback or support requests
Who we share information with
We share your information only with service providers that help us operate the app, and only as needed to deliver its features. We require these providers to protect your information and to use it only to provide their services to us. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
The categories of service providers we use are:
- Cloud hosting and database providers — securely store your profile, rounds, avatar and feedback so they sync across your devices.
- Analytics and crash-reporting providers — help us understand how the app is used and diagnose technical problems.
- Artificial-intelligence providers — process the questions you ask the caddie, the relevant shot context, and any photo you choose to send, in order to generate advice. This information is handled under the provider's own privacy and security terms.
- Weather-data providers — receive only the coordinates of the course you select, never any personal information, to return current conditions.
- Sign-in providers — if you choose to sign in with a third-party account (such as Google), that provider verifies your identity and shares basic profile information with us.
Your information is primarily processed and stored in Canada. Some providers may process it in other countries; where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards. We can provide the identity of the specific provider in any category on request — just email us at the address below.
How long we keep data
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the app, and you can delete it at any time (see "Your rights"). Coaching conversations are kept only for a limited period and then deleted automatically. Technical logs are retained for a limited time for security and diagnostics. Where the law requires us to keep certain information longer, we do.
Your rights
- Access your data — visible within the app at any time.
- Update your profile, bag, or rounds from within the app at any time.
- Delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete Account. This removes your profile, rounds, and avatar from our servers.
- Export your data — contact us at the address below and we'll provide your data in JSON.
If you're a resident of the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA. Contact us to exercise them.
Children's privacy
Looper is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard security practices, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. No system is perfectly secure; we can't guarantee absolute protection, but we follow established best practices.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and notify you within the app.
